Cycling Meetups in Stockholm

Beyond scheduled rides, our meetups bring cyclists together for social gatherings, route planning sessions, and seasonal events. This page describes our community formats for informational purposes. Attendance is voluntary.

Types of Meetups We Host

Each meetup format serves a different purpose within our community. Some focus on social connection, others on skill-sharing or route discovery.

Coffee and Route Planning

Informal morning gatherings at local cafés where members discuss upcoming rides, share route discoveries, and coordinate weekend plans.

New Member Introductions

Monthly sessions designed for people who recently joined or are considering participation. Includes a brief overview of our ride categories and community guidelines.

Seasonal Celebration Rides

Special meetups marking the start of spring riding, midsummer evening outings, and autumn farewell tours before winter scheduling.

Community Values

Our meetups are guided by a set of shared principles that shape how we interact, ride, and welcome new participants.

Inclusive Participation

Riders of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome. We avoid language or behavior that excludes or intimidates newcomers.

Open Communication

Questions are encouraged at every meetup. We share information transparently about ride expectations, route conditions, and community policies.

Environmental Respect

We ride responsibly through parks and shared spaces, follow designated paths, and encourage sustainable transportation choices.

The Social Atmosphere

Meetups are intentionally informal. There is no dress code, no performance expectations, and no obligation to attend rides after a meetup. Many members attend meetups simply to connect with others who share an interest in Stockholm cycling.

Conversation topics range from route recommendations and gear preferences to local infrastructure observations and upcoming community events across the city.

  • Multiple venue locations across Stockholm
  • No obligation to join rides after attending a meetup

First-Timer Guide

If you have never attended a cycling meetup before, this brief guide outlines what to expect and how to prepare for your first visit.

Step 1

Choose a Meetup Format

Review the meetup types above and select one that matches your interest. New Member Welcome sessions are the recommended starting point.

Step 2

Send a Brief Introduction

Use our contact form to let us know you plan to attend. Include your name and which meetup you are interested in. No lengthy registration required.

Step 3

Arrive and Introduce Yourself

Look for the Shoulderhip sign at the venue. A community member will greet you and introduce you to others.

Step 4

Explore at Your Own Pace

Stay for as long as you like. Ask questions, listen to conversations, and decide whether any upcoming rides interest you.

Group Size and Registration

We maintain manageable group sizes to ensure quality interaction at every meetup. Registration helps us prepare the venue and materials accordingly.

Coffee Meetups

Smaller group sessions designed for route discussion and informal introductions. Capacity is limited to maintain comfortable conversation settings.

Workshop Sessions

Indoor events with provided materials. Registration closes once the venue reaches its practical seating limit.

Seasonal Events

Larger outdoor gatherings during spring and summer. Group size is managed according to route safety and venue conditions.

Registration Process

Registering for a meetup is straightforward. We do not require accounts, subscriptions, or payment for standard community meetups.

  1. 1

Visit our Contact page and fill in the form with your name, email, and a message indicating which meetup you wish to attend.

  2. 2

Receive a confirmation email within two business days with the venue address, time, and any items to bring.

  3. 3

Attend the meetup. No further steps required unless you choose to join a subsequent ride or program.

Meetup FAQ

Not at all. Many meetups are social gatherings that do not involve cycling. Even ride-oriented meetups welcome participants who are simply curious about the community.

Most meetups are conducted in English, with Swedish used when all participants are comfortable. Bilingual community members often assist with translation when needed.

Standard community meetups are free. Workshop sessions that include provided materials may have a small fee, clearly stated in the event description before registration.
